Twenty four year old Michael Dundee, from Antrim, (pictured left) was delighted to achieve second place in the Irish Regional Final of the Institute of Horticulture Young Horticulturalist of the Year Competition, held recently at Johnstown Garden Centre, County Kildare
Michael, an Extended Diploma in Horticulture student at CAFRE’s Greenmount Campus, was congratulated on his success by Paul Mooney, Head of Horticulture Education. ‘It’s a terrific achievement for a first year student, as this prestigious competition is open to anyone under the age of 30 working in horticulture or studying for a recognised horticultural qualification, and it attracts over 1500 entries across the United Kingdom and Ireland each year’ said Mr Mooney.
