The Rediscovery Centre education programmes have been developed to promote waste prevention, minimisation and reuse and to complement our current Rediscovery Centre projects.
Primary Level Education Programme
The Rediscovery Centre is an accredited Discover Centre under the Discover Primary Science & Maths initiative (www.primaryscience.ie). We provide a variety of exciting and interactive workshops that are linked to the SESE curriculum and which can be delivered either in our education room in Ballymun or in your own classroom.
We currently offer the following workshops to Primary Schools:
- Half day workshop on waste (in Ballymun)
- Half day workshop on energy (in Ballymun)
- 1.5hr workshop on waste (in your school)
- 1.5hr workshop on energy (in your school)
- 1.5hr workshop on energy & circuits (in your school)
- 1.5hr workshop on water (in your school)
- 1.5hr workshop on biodiversity (in your school)

Second Level Education Programme
The Rediscovery Centre also offers several workshops for second level students which are linked to the second level curriculum through CSPE (Concept of Stewardship), Art, Science, Geography, Maths and English. This cross curricular approach provides students with an opportunity to be creative and develop analytical skills in a hands-on way.
The workshops currently available include:
- Introduction to waste management (Suitable for 1st – 3rd years, TY)
- Introduction to sustainable design (Suitable for 1st – 3rd years, TY)
- Introduction to energy (Suitable for 1st – 2nd years)

Third Level Education and Research Services
The Rediscovery Centre actively participates in education and research with third level institutions, facilitates field trips and placements for third level students and also delivers lectures in environmental sustainability.
