A Green Ribbon campaign will take place during the month of May 2013. The Green Ribbon has been established as the international symbol for mental health awareness and is being introduced to Ireland by See Change. As part of the campaign Coillte has collaborated with the IFA, See Change and Mental Health Ireland for a national programme of Let’s Talk & Walk family friendly walks which will take place at the following venues:
Sunday, May 19th 3.00pm
Curragh Chase Forest Park, Co. Limerick
Sunday, May 26th 3.00pm
Killykeen Forest Park, Co. Cavan
For more information visit www.coillteoutdoors.ie which features an interactive county by county map listing Coillte Forest Parks. Walkers will be given free Green Ribbons to wear, this is an awareness campaign not a fund raising event.
Wearing the green ribbon during the month of May is a simple way of showing awareness. The walks will provide farmers and members of our local communities to enjoy two things which we can all enjoy – Nature and Talking!
To facilitate walkers admission to the car parks where appropriate will be free from 2.30pm – 3.15pm. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing and hopefully we will have reasonably good weather on the day.
Refreshments will be provided.
