If you thought romance was dead, think again. A new study into our love lives has revealed we are actually a nation of true romantics who prefer to show our love the old-fashioned way… The poll – conducted by romance and flower experts Interflora – shows that, despite our addiction to social media, poetry scores higher than Facebook as a means of communicating true love. It also reveals that we like to woo our other halves with hand-written love letters and to say ‘I love you’ with Valentine’s Day flowers.
The study, which involved 2,000 people, set out to discover more about modern relationships and found that a surprising number of us had fallen in love at first sight. And, despite the 50 Shades of Grey effect, when it comes to relationships laughter, support and friendship are deemed more important than money or sex.
