Interflora has been awarded a second Gold Medal for its landmark design exhibit Time Frames, which is currently on display at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show. The exhibit has also been named Best Exhibit in the Floral Design Studio.
Hot on the heels of its success at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the exhibit features six individual ‘frames’ decorated with thousands of flowers, and has been recreated for the last time at RHS Tatton Park as part of the celebrations surrounding Interflora’s 90th anniversary.
The second gold was awarded in recognition of the floral design and artistry displayed in its concept and construction and is testament to the exceptional skills and creativity of the five florists involved in the project, two of which are from the North West.
The team of expert florists included Janet Boast, who owns Going Dutch in Nelson, Lancashire, Natalie Stanyer, who owns Natalie’s Florist in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, Morgan Nuth, who owns Rushes Floral Designs in Hammersmith, and Old Oak Floral Designers in Ealing, London, Steve Betts, who owns Urban Design Flowers in Solihull and project creative director David Ragg, who owns Lansdowne Florist in Bournemouth.
Together they take inspiration from art, fashion and pop culture from the 1920s to the present day, creating a seamless passage through the decades and taking visitors on a visual journey through time.
Featuring flowers that were available and popular during the time, as well as those that have become synonymous with the decades, each florist was responsible for interpreting their own section of time to showcase floristry expertise over the past nine decades.
Creative Director David Ragg said, “Chelsea was the first time we had all worked together as a team and we were obviously thrilled with the result. We hoped to be able to recreate the exhibit and generate the same level of excitement here and we’re delighted to have been successful. Time Frames is a real tribute to florists and how the world of floristry has changed and developed, as well as looking at the passing of times generally. The flowers used are synonymous with each decade and by teaming these with iconic images and design, we try to bring each decade to life.”

Interflora’s ‘Time Frames’ can be seen on stand FD8 in the Floral Design Marquee at Tatton Park between Thursday 25th and Sunday 28th July.
