Ingrid Swan graduated from Writtle College, Essex with a Degree in Landscape in Garden Design. Ingrid has spent 12 years working for design practices to acquire a broad base of experience on a range of projects. Ingrid has worked on private garden and public projects of all scales throughout Ireland.

Ingrid previously worked for Costin & Associates in Kilcock and BHL Design in Cork. While working for Costins, Ingrid undertook the design of private gardens, bespoke features, stud farms, a new village on the Baldoyle Racecourse including courtyard spaces, public spaces and a hundred acre park including wildlife preserve.

Ingrid moved to Cork to work for BHL Design to undertake more public landscape work including the upgrade of the grounds and courtyards at Cork University Hospital. Her duties included producing design plans, planting plans, budget estimates undertaking project management and producing and assessing tender packages. Ingrid also prepared documentation for submission for Pre-Qualification for Tender.

Ingrid is also an ECDL accredited tutor for AutoCAD and teaches beginners Photoshop at the Colaiste Stiofain Naofa in Cork. Ingrid has over the last number of years carried out presentations on the subject of Garden Design for Garden and Flower Clubs in Cork and Kerry.

Since travelling to Japan to study the various styles of Japanese Garden, Ingrid is interested in reflecting the unique aspects of the Irish landscape within our gardens. Ingrid is passionate about creating outdoor spaces, both public and private, which enhance our experience of our homes and locality. Ingrid now primarily undertakes commissions for private gardens and offers a full range of consultancy services including:

  • Planting Plans
  • Maintenance Programmes
  • Project Management

Ingrid is currently based in Cork and Carlow and offers her services nationwide.
