A South Dublin County Tidy Towns meeting has been arranged Thursday 7th February at 7.30pm in the Green Isle Hotel, Clondalkin. Speakers will include members of the Tallanstown Tidy Towns – winners of the Tidy Towns competition in 2010, the chairperson of the Clondalkin Tidy Towns and a speaker from An Taisce’s Green Home’s programme.
Any member of the public can attend especially those who are interested in making their town or village a better place to live in and who are willing to get involved in Tidy Towns? To reserve a place, bookonline at www.sdcc.ie. The meeting will give people an opportunity to get advice, find support and establish a network to work together in their area
The Mayor Cathal King said “I am greatly encouraged by the Tidy Towns groups in the County – they make a huge difference to their place. This is a national competition and is an opportunity to put our towns and villages on the map. Tidy town groups get involved in so many things – heritage, wildlife and waste minimisation. They bring everyone in an area together”
Mayor King encourages everyone in the County to get involved “I would greatly encourage everyone to get involved in Tidy Towns and attend the public meeting in the Green Isle Hotel on 7th February.”
