Just when I thought my week couldn’t get any better it just did! On the back of being nominated in six different categories at the Blog Awards Ireland I got some very exciting news on twitter over the weekend.
I could not believe it when I saw the tweet appear and had to go on to the website to make sure they had not made a mistake! To my delight thought they have not made a mistake and my blog has made it in to the final of the Garden Bloggers Hall of Fame. I was more shocked to see that my blog is the only Irish blog that has made it to the final. It is amazing to me that something I started as a means to share my passion for horticulture and plants has found its way into an international competition. The blog is nominated in the Best Garden Blog Graphics Photography and Presentation category along side four other great blogs.
Between now and the 8th of September there is a public vote. The winner will be chosen 50% of the public vote and 50% judges vote and announced on September 23rd. It only takes seconds to vote in the competition so I would be so grateful if you could vote for Beyond The Wild Garden in it.
To vote in the competition just click here and cast your vote. It really does only take seconds to vote! I don’t think I can thank you all enough for reading the blog over the past year and helping it and myself get in to amazing situations like this!
My Name is David Corscadden and I have just finished my degree in horticulture from UCD. I have a keen interest in wildlife friendly gardens or as I like to call them “Wild Gardens”. I have in the last year taken a u-turn in what I thought I would do after college. I have moved more in to the literature side of horticulture and plan to do a masters in journalism next year.
