The Organic College in Dromcollogher is delighted to announce its special open day as part of National Organic Week. Exciting events will be held around the country showcasing the best in organic food products, food growing and for those interested in becoming organic certified. At an t’lonad Glas teaching staff have been working for over twenty years bringing the good news about the benefits of organics to students and the public.
‘People who really care about their food, where it comes from and how it is produced are big supporters of the organic movement’, says Educational Director Jim McNamara. The college has seen a huge increase for the demand in places in recent years, which shows more and more people are growing organically and sourcing local, organic food.
The open day schedule:
- 6pm: Walks around the college two gardens, now laden with delicious fruits and vegetables. Visitors will get to see the chicken run and the very busy beehives.
- 7.00pm Tasting of seasonal produce
- 7.30pm Launch of the College Shop
- 8.00pm Brief presentations on:
Organic Farming and Growing Opportunities.

Talks will take place on harvesting and gardening as well as the steps to go through to have your land organically certified.
