Farm Shop “The Piggery”
The farm’s on-site shop, affectionately known as “The Piggery,” operates every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. Visitors can purchase a variety of homegrown produce, including chemical-free vegetables, flowers, free-range eggs, and 100% pasture-fed lamb. The shop also offers a curated selection of local products, such as honey, cheeses, cured meats, organic beef, and ice cream. Additionally, patrons can enjoy locally roasted Ethiopian coffee and homemade brownies while shopping.

Regenerative Farming Practices
Swainstown Farm employs minimal intervention techniques, including no-till vegetable gardening without the use of tractors or chemicals. Livestock are managed to mimic natural grazing patterns, with mixed-species herds moved daily to fresh pasture, allowing land ample time to recover. This approach promotes biodiversity, sequesters carbon in the soil, and maintains livestock health without routine medications.

Accommodations at The Hayloft
In addition to its farming operations, Swainstown Farm offers unique accommodations in “The Hayloft,” a 300-year-old Georgian hayloft converted into a cozy, modern space. Guests can immerse themselves in farm life, enjoy fresh produce, and experience the tranquility of the countryside.

Community Engagement
As a proud member of the Boyne Valley Flavours group, Swainstown Farm collaborates with local growers and producers to offer high-quality food experiences in the Boyne region. The farm is dedicated to promoting a sustainable food system that benefits both people and the planet.
