In flower now int he garden at St Patricks Primary in Derry is Viburnum dawn, this cracking winter flowering shrub flowers from mid September right through the winter in the sheltered school garden
The flowers of Viburnum dawn are small and bright on the bare-stems of the shrub, Indeed the foliage itself has a striking smell when crushed. We’ve chatted about Viburnum tinus before, this is another winter flowering Viburnum (evergreen too), and the Spring flowering Viburnum shasta.
