Sunflowers Shine On – David Corscadden

I was so happy last week to stumble across a few sunflowers that were still putting on a great display of beaming colour from the middle of a jam packed flowerbed.

You might remember I talked about multi-headed sunflowers a few weeks ago and I am glad to say this one that I came across, once again had a number of massive flowers.

I don’t think any other flower can put a bigger smile on my face better than a sun flower can. They really are fantastic! As I said before I love sunflowers even when the petals fade away but I must admit I am already planning a display of them for next year!

My Name is David Corscadden and I have just finished my degree in horticulture from UCD. I have a keen interest in wildlife friendly gardens or as I like to call them “Wild Gardens”. I have in the last year taken a u-turn in what I thought I would do after college. I have moved more in to the literature side of horticulture and plan to do a masters in journalism next year.
