The RHS has welcomed the consultation on the National Pollinator Strategy for England as a significant step in understanding and counteracting the pressures on bees and other pollinators.
In a statement, the charity said: “We share concerns expressed by the many stakeholders who have informed the development of the Strategy. The RHS will formally respond to the consultation and continue to work with Defra and others on its development.
“The inclusion of the RHS Perfect for Pollinators campaign in the strategy underlines the crucial role that gardens, gardeners and the RHS play in supporting pollinators.
“Our aim is to encourage a responsible approach to gardening. One of the ways we achieve this is by offering a range of advice on how gardeners can support pollinators. The RHS is the largest gardening charity in the UK and provides advice and guidance including garden plants and wildflowers that are best at attracting and sustaining pollinators.”
