This opportunity comes from a private estate in Kilcullen, Co. Kildare, who seek a skilled gardener. The estate gardens comprise glass houses, formal, lawns, paddocks, show areas, borders and landscaped areas.
The position is full-time (40hrs per week) and the salary is to be discussed.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, Pro-active Gardener required with appropriate horticultural qualifications, good knowledge of plants, trees, ferns, specimen trees and citrus plants. At least three years working as a gardener.
Key Skills, Responsibilities & Attributes:
Working with a small team of gardeners.
Be willing and able to work with other teams on the estate and assist them as the needs of the estate require.
A creative flair for the future development and improvement of the gardens. Devise, plan and maintain planting and work programs with owners.
Experience of horticultural techniques including planting, propagating, pruning and the care of plants, shrubs and trees.
Good knowledge of pests and diseases and their treatment.
Manage an annual agreed budget.
Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, Environmental management, manual handling and risk assessment.
Minimum Qualifications Level 6 certification in Horticulture.
Build effective networks with local suppliers and other specialist contractors.
A clean current driving licence.

Good communication skills essential.
An ability to plan work programs for yourself and others. Good time management and prioritizing skills.
Effective work practices to cover work across a large estate.
Physically able to undertake manual tasks outdoors.
