In recognition of National Gardening Week, Ulster Rugby Star Ian Humphreys and his family this week helped launch the family programme for this years Allianz Garden Show Ireland event which will take place from 8-10 May at Antrim Castle Gardens.
Promising a ‘Festival of flowers, food and fun’, the 2015 Allianz Garden Show Ireland programme offers plenty for families. From ‘Bush Craft’ skills and Archery for young adventurers to honey making, planting and basket weaving – kids can pick up lots of new skills. A dedicated children’s ‘Bean Bag Cinema’ will provide a welcome rest point for weary legs and ‘Allianz Scarecrow Wood’ – created by children from Integrated Schools throughout Northern Ireland – is always a talking point for the little ones! Plus, for the grown ups, live music, artisan food and drink stalls, cream teas, thousands of plants and crafts and plenty of gardening experts on hand, including BBC’s Monty Don who will be appearing at the Show on Saturday 9th May.
Ulster Rugby star Ian Humphreys had this to say; “We heard so many great reports about the Show last year from friends and family that we knew we couldn’t miss it this year. Antrim Castle Gardens is one of our favourite places to go as a family so we are delighted that the Show is there and we know our daughters will adore all the family activities provided. Jenny and I love having fun family days out with our girls and we are really looking forward to going to the Allianz Garden Show Ireland this year.”
