Fading Beauty – David Corscadden

It is coming to that time of year when my favourite flowers are starting to fade and disappear for the winter. But even though the colour is starting to fade from them I think they still look very interesting!

I think even when they start to turn brown and crisp, roses still look rather beautiful! ………..Beautiful in a strange way!

There really isn’t much time left to enjoy perfect roses but I guess I can enjoy them as the colour fades from them. That is until the rain and wind comes and knocks the petals to the ground like a shower of confetti!

My Name is David Corscadden and I have just finished my degree in horticulture from UCD. I have a keen interest in wildlife friendly gardens or as I like to call them “Wild Gardens”. I have in the last year taken a u-turn in what I thought I would do after college. I have moved more in to the literature side of horticulture and plan to do a masters in journalism next year.
