European Land Stewardship Week

Date: 26th September-5th October 2014

The second edition of the European Land Stewardship Week will take place from 26th September to 5th October 2014. Landlifeweek is an initiative of the Spanish LIFE Information & Communication project, ‘LANDLIFE’ (LIFE10 INF/ES/000540), whose overarching goal is to boost land stewardship as a tool for nature and biodiversity conservation (particularly in the Western Mediterranean Arch), by communicating its value to the general public, institutions, land planners and specific stakeholders.

Led by the ‘LANDLIFE’ project beneficiary (XCT, the Catalan Land Stewardship Network), the European Land Stewardship Week is being backed by four partner organizations – CEN L-R (Conservatoire des Espaces Naturels du Languedoc-Roussillon), Legambiente, Eurosite and Prysma – with the vital support of individuals, organizations and institutions who are working towards the common goal of preserving the natural, rural and cultural heritage of our lands and sustainable use of all our natural resources.

During the First European Land Stewardship Week more than 15,000 people took part in the activities, making a contribution to land conservation and helping to take a step forward for land stewardship in Europe. A total of 231 organizations, public agencies, volunteer groups, municipalities, businesses, schools and other institutions, organized more than 420 events inspired by the common goal of preserving natural, cultural and landscape heritage.

Organizations wishing to take part or to promote the LandLifeWeek can contact the organizers via email (info@landlifeweek.eu or visit www.landlifeweek.eu. You can either register your event through a very simple registration form or find an event near you.
