Today, Monday, 4 June 2018, is the penultimate of five days of activities from Bord Bia’s 12th Bloom festival in the Phoenix Park, Dublin.

MILLIONTH VISITOR
On Sunday, Bord Bia’s Bloom welcomed the one-millionth visitor to the Phoenix Park for Ireland’s annual celebration of food and horticulture. Now in its 12th year, Bord Bia’s Bloom once again attracted large numbers to enjoy the vibrant mix of show gardens, floral artistry, food, music, crafts and more.

CONTRACTOR AWARD WINNER
Mark Mohan of Co. Monaghan company, Silverstream Landscapes, has been named the winner of the first-ever ‘Best Contractor’ award at Bord Bia’s Bloom.  Silverstream Landscapes, which is a second-generation family firm who constructed this year’s best large Show Garden – the ‘Sustainable Seafood Garden’ sponsored by Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM). They were also contractors on the best medium garden winner – the Enable Ireland Beyond Boundaries Garden in association with Solus Light Bulbs as well as the Marie Keating Foundation Sunsmart Garden.

DESIGNER CHOICE AWARD WINNER
The winner of the coveted Designers’ Choice Award at Bord Bia’s Bloom – where the garden designers vote for their favourite show garden – has been awarded to Kevin Dennis, Cityscape Gardener, for his Fruit Juice Matters Garden. His winning show garden is designed as a sanctuary for young professionals and features multiple spaces for exercise, relaxation and entertainment. On Thursday, Kevin was also awarded a gold medal by a panel of Bloom judges.
