Connacht Gold has opened the doors of its Swinford store following the upgrade of the existing agri supplies store with a €600,000 investment and expansion of the range of goods and services.
The investment is creating three new jobs in the Co Mayo town. It has a diversified business based in Co Sligo, dealing in food and dairy ingredients, agribusiness, livestock marketing, property management and timber processing and also has an investment in local radio.
The new outlet will now stock a wide range of garden and outdoor products, DIY, building and agri products and a pet centre as well as boasting a 5,000 sq ft garden centre and 6,000 sq ft shop floor.
Connacht Gold CEO, Aaron Forde said: “I hope this outlet will provide a welcome boost to the town of Swinford, not just in terms of employment but in services also. The new features of the store, we hope, will open it up to a new type of customer, in addition to our valued agri customers.
“The redevelopment represents as significant regional investment and has allowed us to strengthen the profile of our network of 30 stores. Our intention is to provide our new customers with the same level of knowledge and service we pride ourselves on throughout Connacht.”
