Last Monday 16th June marks the start of British Flowers Week, a campaign championed by the New Covent Garden Flower Market to raise awareness of the wealth and variety of home-grown flowers and foliage.
British grown flowers have been enjoying something of a resurgence in popularity recently with more and more people wanting to celebrate the seasons and support British growers. Often scented, British flowers have a charming natural beauty and just-picked freshness that make them a favourite with florists and consumers alike.
David Ragg, who heads up the Product Development team at Interflora said: “Here at Interflora we pride ourselves on being able to offer the very best British Grown flowers when in season. Not only does it effectively help to promote the British growers, it also gives the consumer the considered choice when purchasing their floral gifts.”
This summer we have a beautiful selection of British grown flowers including British stocks, delphiniums and peonies, many of which are grown in the fields of Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Suffolk by flower farmers who have been using the same expert techniques for many decades.
Take a look at some of the highlights from our British Grown Collection.
British Scented Summer Garden Hand-tied

This bouquet epitomises the vitality of summer with its dazzling shades and sheer abundance of delicate petals and rich detail. The pom pom shaped alliums are such fun, and the stocks are a traditional summer flower that also have a distinctive heady fragrance they’ll enjoy.
British Grown Peony Gift Bag
£29.99 with free delivery
The flamboyant peony is a popular choice for summer, and when you look at these luscious pastel pink blooms it’s so easy to see why. We’ve added some summery sweet williams to give contrast and detail and presented everything beautifully in a pretty gift bag.
British Delphinium Pail
£32.99 with free delivery
Sometimes the simplest of choices make the most captivating of gifts. We thought the distinctive rich blue and pristine white of these much loved delphiniums needed little adornment, so we’ve simply arranged them in a stylish metal pail to let their beauty speak for itself.
