This roof garden brings a modern office environment as close to nature as possible. The garden is designed to wrap around an extremely minimalist and subtle structure, consisting only of structural glass walls and a flat green roof. The office rooms are sunk into the garden to achieve the “worm’s-eye view” of the surrounding landscape. From this perspective objects look larger and mighty, allowing the designer’s imagination to drift from reality to fantasy. The water areas seem to expand far into the distance, the rock formations resemble mountains and ripples are projected by the sunlight onto the ceiling. Concentrating on the detail, the design allows us to see things we would never have noticed before, watch plants grow and feel our inferiority to nature. The planting style is naturalistic, with large, irregularly shaped trees determining the framework, complimented by a layered planting of perennials and grasses.
