‘Until Love Conquers Fear’ – A Garden for Trocaire
This modern contemporary garden space celebrates Trocaire as one of Ireland’s leading overseas charities. The garden highlights Trocaire’s vision for a just and peaceful world and its belief that everyone has the right to peace and dignity alongside access to clean water and sustainable land.
There are two distinct areas within the garden: an outer arid, barren space, depicting landscapes and communities that have been devastated by natural disaster and/or conflict. This contrasts with a lush oasis within, symbolizing visible, sustainable rejuvenation made possible through Trocaire’s intervention. The modern layout and contemporary materials used in the garden will deliver Trocaire’s message to a new target audience at Bloom, as well as reinforcing its message with existing supporters.
With an interest in architecture and the ‘built environment’ and a passion for plants, Linda studied horticulture and garden design at QUB and changed her career path in 2001. She has been designing private, public and commercial gardens professionally ever since. ‘Plants are the main inspiration for my designs, combining plants and existing materials to create sustainable, dynamic, contemporary form in the garden,’ she says. The same attention to concept and detail is given to all Linda’s designs. Layout and planting are tailored to the building’s architecture, surrounding landscape/cityscape and client lifestyle.
