This show garden strives to harmonise James’ two passions of architecture and landscape, demonstrating a modern and sustainable approach to how we can better live and relax within our everyday environment.
To achieve this, the built element of the garden takes centre stage, creating a garden room in its purest form, offering both shelter and delight.
The planting which surrounds the built element of the garden creates a sense of being immersed in nature. There is a delicate palette of colours and textures, chosen to create a harmonious environment as you journey through and explore the garden.
James was the winner of the Gold Medal and Best in Show award at Garden Show Ireland 2015, and this year has worked with Diarmuid Gavin on the Harrods show garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. He was also the recent winner of the All-Ireland Design Competition with Kilsaran. He runs his own design practice based in Belfast.(View profile)
