Founder of charity Fund4Trees Russell Ball has begun a cycling trip that will take him to four capital cities within the United Kingdom and Ireland, planting trees in schools along the way.
The ride started in London on 15 April, calling at Cardiff before going over to Ireland by ferry to visit Dublin and Belfast. Ball will then head back across to the mainland, heading to Edinburgh on 24 April, returning to London on 1 May.
The aim of the ‘Capital Cities Ride: UK & Ireland’ is to raise the profile of Donate One Job and Donate One Hour, two Fund4Trees initiatives to encourage tree officers, consultants and contractors to provide a small annual charitable donation to the registered Charity.
All ride costs are being sponsored by Gristwood & Toms and the trees supplied by Barcham Trees.
Ball said: “It’s another huge challenge but I’m looking forward to meeting all the school children en route plus anyone who cares to join me on their bike”.
Ball completed a successful Land’s End-John O’Groats bike ride last year.
