Killarney Candle Makers Launch Range of Rapeseed Wax Candles

Co Kerry business The Killarney Candle Makers is launching its new range of Irish rapeseed wax candles at Showcase Tradeshow RDS, Dublin, which is on until 21 January.

Located just outside Killarney, the company started in 2007 as a hobby by the Daly family. Their newborn son Jamie, who was born with chronic chest condition, was the inspiration behind the eco-friendly, natural scented, handmade aromatherapy candles and products.

Formerly called Bluebell Eco Candles, Ireland’s original soy candle makers, it went on to win the Green Procurement Award in 2013 as well as being the finalists in 2012/14 Green Awards.

The Killarney Candle Makers ethos is to use natural, sustainable resources with a blend of fragrance and essential oils to capture the essence of Ireland.

The new range of five rapeseed candles packaged in travel-safe tins to suit tourists is called ‘The Scents of Ireland’.

Co-founder Fleur Daly said: “We wanted to capture the memories of home, the warm embrace of Christmas with the family, the turf fires, salty spray of Atlantic sea shore, the spring celebration of St Patrick’s Day to name but a few.”
