Our annual Summer course for teachers has just finished. A fun and practical hands-on course, it demonstrated to the 16 participants, how to plan and create an organic garden. The teachers learnt how to develop various habitats and increase biodiversity in their own school grounds whether primary or secondary.
The next stage for all you teachers is the School Garden Education Conference, taking place on 4th October in Dublin, which will include keynote speakers, exhibitions, workshops on seed saving, school garden science, and much much more. See www.SchoolEarthEd.ie for more info.
Teachers are really beginning to understand the potential of the outdoor classroom, giving children a better learning experience. It is work very dear to Seed Savers heart.
