Spring and early summer are some of the best times to visit woodlands as the wildflowers are in full bloom, taking advantage of the light before the canopy closes over. Tomnafinnoge woods is the last surviving fragment of the great Oak woods of Shillelagh, which once covered the hills and valleys of South Wicklow. A special area of conservation, this ancient woodland will bring you back in time. On the day we will be taking a nice stroll through this magnificent wood and learning about the flora and fauna it supports. This walk is free for members with a suggested donation of €4 for non-members and all are welcome.
