Two Brownie packs will bury a time capsule at RHS Garden Rosemoor to mark the centenary of the Brownies section of Girl Guides. The capsule will be filled with various objects depicting life and the Brownies in 2014 before the 1st and 3rd Torrington Brownies bury it in Rosemoor’s Peter Buckley Learning Centre Garden. A plaque will also be erected.
The plan is for the capsule to be dug up in 50 years’ time in 2064. The Brownies are all aged seven to 10, so it’s hoped that they will be able to bring their own families along to that event.
Around 40 Brownies will be at Rosemoor on Monday 17 February for the ceremony.
