A resident of Lennon, Bretagne, couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw an apple on a hazelnut tree. Specialists were surprised as well.
Alain Baron, Director of the apple division of the National Institute for Agricultural Research (Inra) in Rennes, reacts: “This can be a very successful joke or we have to raise money for research into this.”
The mayor of Lennon and other residents are sure it is a real apple. It looks green at the moment, but they will wait patiently and protect the apple till is ready to harvest. ‘The apple of Lennon.’
