The Irish Georgian Society & Kilkenny County & City Councils in association with the Office of Public Works presents an exhibition for owners of period buildings & those interested in architectural conservation & traditional building skills. The traditional building & conservation skills exhibition, demonstrations & talks will take place in the glorious grounds of Kilkenny Castle. Over the course of the weekend, craftspeople will actively demonstrate traditional building skills used in the conservation of old buildings. Accompanying the exhibition will be two days of traditional building and conservation talks. Kilkenny Castle will become a one-stop shop for owners in need of accurate, impartial and free advice on caring and repairing for their period buildings.

This is a family-friendly event with free face painting (11am to 4pm daily). Minister of State, with special responsibility for the OPW, Brian Hayes TD will formally launch the exhibition at 11am Saturday 13th October.
FREE Conservation Talks
A series of conservation talks will run throughout the weekend at Kilkenny Castle’s Parade Tower. Admission to the lectures is free of charge and no booking is necessary.
