The majestic Mount Congreve Gardens located just a 10-minute drive from Waterford city and adjoining the Waterford Greenway has a very special day out planned for Mother’s Day.
Mrs Marjorie Congreve was a lady of great taste and an exceptional Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea & Jazz is set to be hosted in the large drawing room of Mount Congreve House which is adorned by a priceless wallpaper of such intricate detail that it is the only one of its kind in the world. The Chinese Room is a step into the timeless elegance and luxury of Mount Congreve House. Mr Congreve’s trips to Asia inspired it, and this elegant room offers guests a taste of history in a charming setting where tradition and charm surround you. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the room with natural light while Waterford Crystal chandeliers and lamps bestow a grand sense of occasion. A delightful space in which to enjoy a delicious traditional Afternoon Tea – a ritual that was enjoyed daily by Majorie and Ambrose Congreve.
Guests will be served a sumptuous Afternoon Tea prepared by The Stables Café by The Pantry CLIFF. The menu will feature delicious and seasonally filled finger sandwiches, homemade scones and a selection of pastries and desserts with ingredients derived from the estate’s Kitchen Gardens and artisanal local food producers as they also enjoy music from the unique female jazz band Indigo Mood.
