CountryLife.ie has impressed judges to make it through to the Top5 Online Retailers competition run by Retail Excellence, Ireland’s largest retail representative body.
The shopping experience and large range of garden centre, pet store, farm and rural supplies available on the website www.countrylife.ie, part of Glanbia Ireland, ensured it made it into the final. CountryLife has a network of 17 award-winning garden centres located across Ireland’s South-East.
The competition for Online Retailers enjoyed the largest entry in the past 20 years proving the growing importance of the online channel in retail today.
All entrants were subjected to an independent website audit conducted by experts StudioForty9 which investigated page load speed, first impressions, product search, navigation, cart, checkout, delivery options, and SEO.
Aislinn Dunne, Glanbia Ireland’s eCommerce Manager, said: “We are delighted that our new look CountryLife online store has proven such a success with our customers and it’s an honour to be featured in the Top 5. This is just the beginning as we are adding new products and features all the time.”
David Fitzsimons, Group Chief Executive, Retail Excellence added: “We offer our heartfelt congratulations to the Top5 Online Retailers. To achieve Top5 status is something to be very proud of. The investment being made by Irish retailers in their online websites is growing each year.
“With Irish consumers now spending €850,000 each hour online, Irish retailers have a big opportunity to drive online revenue.”
GlanbiaConnect was the winner of Website of the Year 2019 in last year’s Retail Excellence Awards.
The winner will be announced at the AIBMS Retail Excellence Awards in November.
The Top5 finalists will now proceed to judging stage two.
