Young Chefs Cookery Classes

For all inquisitive little foodies and budding chefs Airfield Estate is introducing the first of its children's cookery classes. Children will see the process of food from farm to fork and get hands on, learning kitchen safety with correct utensil care. They will soon become experts in rustling up delicious healthy meals that they can recreate at home.

The Hens Tale – Breeding Chicks from Cold Eggs - Dee Sewell

Less than a year ago I shared the arrival of our rescue hens with you. We were expecting shy, timid creatures but instead they were a bolshy bunch. Although rescued from a free range chicken farm, many had feathers missing and one young lady (they were a year old when they were sprung) was quickly nicknamed Rodette after her resemblance to the old, male singer with the funky hair.

Mulch Opens Ireland’s First Under Cover Drive-Through Garden Waste Recycling Centre in Dublin

New Mulch retail store offers 100% peat-free garden products for environmentally-minded gardeners and landscapers. Mulch, the garden waste recycling and compost specialist, has opened Ireland’s first drive-through green waste centre and a new retail store in a 12,000 square foot facility in Coolock in North County Dublin.

Kitty has worked on organic small holdings around the world and has a diploma in Organic Horticulture Sustainable Living as well as achieving a first class honours MSc in Organic Horticulture.

I've mentioned before how important trees have been in my relationship with Mr G but the very first spark of attraction didn't take place in a forest, it happened at a craft beer festival in a picturesque Suffolk village. Are you a fan of strawberries? We were given a dozen or so plants a few years ago and ever since, we've been carefully minding our strawberry patch. As a result, we've been picking ripe berries in the polytunnel for the past month or so, enjoying the deliciously sweet berries on our breakfast cereal. Following some sunshine and rain the berries outside are finally ripening and it's a race between us and the slugs.
