Bloom 2017 Medium Garden - Cuprinol Kaleidoscope of Colour

This conceptual rose garden investigates how we perceive and engage with the use of color in a garden. It will feature a sculptural kaleidoscope at its heart, a portal from which to investigate the vibrant arrangement of plant colors and complementary pigments of Cuprinol paints displayed throughout the garden, which together creates a playful and surreal visual experience for the visitor.

BFEI Total Design Exhibition 2017

BFEI is delighted to host its annual Total Design Exhibition on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 May 2017. This annual exhibition offers students studying on the Web Design and Digital Media, Interior Architecture and Design, Landscape Architecture and Graphic Design courses an opportunity to display their creative work and processes in addition to showcasing the variety of courses that the Institute has to offer.

Allianz Garden Show Ireland 2017

Antrim Castle Gardens will be bursting with colour from 5th - 7th May 2017 as Allianz Garden Show Ireland returns to the beautiful venue for a three-day festival of flowers, food, and fun.

With a renewed focus on gardens this year there will be more to entice and inspire every level of a gardener with a warm welcome being extended to Joe Swift from BBC Gardeners World, who will be sharing his extensive knowledge during a series of interesting talks on Friday 5th May.

We are so excited to be offering such a rich variety of artistic activities this year in our celebration of Northern Ireland’s heritage. It is a privilege to host the up and coming young talent represented in the Brass Ensemble and in Sestina, alongside our evergreen Martello Jazz Band, as well as the unique experience of hosting the Sing for Life Choir which plays such an important role in the lives of many in our community affected by cancer.

Bloom 2017

Bloom was launched by Bord Bia in 2007 primarily as a promotional vehicle for horticulture; providing a showcase for garden plants, garden design, construction, horticulture, and gardening as a hobby. Based on similar successful formats such as the RHS Chelsea Flower Shows and RHS Hampton Court Palace shows, Bloom has numerous highly creative gardens and plant displays which are used to inspire and excite the public about gardening and garden design.

Diarmuid Gavin and Anna Daly Launch GroMór 2017 Encouraging Everyone To Get Growing

Award winning garden designer Diarmuid Gavin joined forces with TV3’s Anna Daly have launched GroMór 2017, a nationwide campaign to get the country growing.

GroMór is an initiative by Retail Excellence Garden Centres and growers across Ireland, in association with Bord Bia, to give clear and useful advice on how to best grow plants, herbs, flowers, fruits, vegetables and to highlight the health benefits of gardening.

Minister Creed Announces Funding for the 2017 National Reserve

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed T.D., has recently announced the allocation of funding for the 2017 National Reserve. Minister Creed said, “the National Reserve is a vital resource for providing support to young farmers and new entrants to farming in the crucial years following the establishment of the farm holding”.
