09 July 2013 - 14 July 2013, East MoleseyBrief History The Hampton Court Palace Flower Show was not founded by the RHS: it was created by Historic Royal Palaces and Network Southeast, and first held in 1990. In 1992 Network Southeast announced that it was withdrawing its subsidy, and the RHS was the successful bidder to take the show over. The first RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show was held in 1993, and it has gone on to become the world’s largest flower show. Did you know? The British Rose Festival was introduced in the second Show, in 1991. In 1998, a Hampton Court model garden was rebuilt at the Royal Hospital for Neurodisability in Putney. In 1998, Leyhill Open Prison won a Gold Medal for a garden at Hampton Court. This incident provided the basis for the film Greenfingers (2001), starring Helen Mirren. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ This year at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, we’re combining the exquisite beauty of one of Britain’s greatest flower shows with all the fun and excitement of a spectacular summer festival. Hands-on inspiration is at the heart of the event. Discover a mix of glorious show gardens with a wealth of opportunities to see planting and country crafts close up; fine dining with dazzling floral displays and all things 'grow-your-own'; live music with fabulous shopping, fashion and food. A unique day out for all, in a truly majestic setting. We’re making the show even easier to enjoy with the introduction of a series of special 'zones', each with its own distinctive theme and flavour. Clicke here to know more about the event.
