Timber 2015 Irish Forestry, Woodland and Bio Energy Show

TIMBER 2015!
Ireland's national & largest specialist bi-annual forestry show with bio energy sector, is now in its third year. Minister Show Opening: The Show will be opened 'officially' at 12 noon on Saturday 9 May by Minister Tom Hayes, Minister of State for the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

President Higgins Plants Tree To Mark Tree Week

As part of ESB Tree Week, the President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins continued the tradition by planting a blue cedar tree at Áras an Uachtaráin. Watched on by the children from the junior infants class at St Peter's National School, Phibsboro. The tree was planted on the main avenue at his official residence. ESB Tree Week is supported by the Tree Council and Coillte.

Call For All To Spring Into Action

In celebration of the official 'first day of spring' (20th March) Allianz Garden Show Ireland has called for all gardeners to 'spring into action' and get involved in the Team Garden Challenge at the 2015 Allianz Garden Show Ireland event which takes place from 8-10 May at Antrim Castle Gardens. Pictured at the launch were members of the Men's Shed Garden Challenge team who are all set to get to work ahead of the event.

Allianz Scarecrow Wood at Garden Show Ireland 2015

Scarecrows on the move! Primary school children from Integrated Schools throughout Northern Ireland have once again created the colourful scarecrows which take their annual sojourn at Garden Show Ireland. This year they are heading down to the woods in Antrim Castle Gardens' beautiful parkland. The 2015 Allianz Scarecrow Wood inhabitants will include festive characters who are Colourful & Fun as well as Eco-Friendly, Scary and Traditional Scarecrows!

Weekend in the Hills May 2015

RHSI 'Spring Dreams' Seminar in Botanic Gardens

The Royal Horticultural Society of Ireland is presenting its Annual Spring Gardening Seminar. It will take place in the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, Dublin 9 on Saturday 7th March from 10.30 until 4.30pm. Girley Bog Volunteer Day

Over the last year we have noticed a huge variety of wildflowers in one patch of our Girley Bog site. For this reason we have decided to fence off most of this area to maintain as a wildflower area among our trees.

Farnaght Volunteer Day

Our Farnaght Reserve is our oldest site and it provides a great opportunity to see how once almost-bare land is transforming into a woodland. There are still plenty of areas to be planted on this site and so with the help of volunteers we would like to continue to plant these areas up on the last planting day of 2014.
